During the child psychology consultation, we work together to understand what is going on in the child’s inner world, how they experience their feelings, and what difficulties they face. It is important for us to provide individual support tailored to the child’s personality and stage of development, which will help them in their everyday life. During the consultations, we create a family-like, supportive atmosphere in which both the child and the parents can feel safe.

At our clinic, we offer help from newborn age, and in the first years of life we focus particularly on supporting parents through parent consultations. Later, from around the age of 5, we work directly with the child, using age-appropriate, playful, and creative methods. The first meeting is always with the parents, where we discuss in detail any questions, experiences, and observations that may arise. After that, we can begin working directly with the child, which includes conversations, games, drawing, and observation—all designed to allow the child to express themselves easily.

The consultation process

In the case of children, the active involvement of parents is essential, as the child’s development is closely linked to the family environment.

Therefore, at the first meeting, we talk to the parents (parent consultation) to assess the child’s situation and identify any issues and problems that may arise. After that, meetings with children consist of games, conversations, drawings, and observations. We always use age-appropriate methods, as different age groups express their feelings, thoughts, and difficulties in different ways.

We provide parents with continuous feedback and suggestions, and if necessary, we can recommend additional forms of care (e.g., development).

The psychologist's areas of focus

Our psychologists focus on the child’s emotional world, thinking, and coping strategies, taking into account family dynamics and the child’s everyday environment (kindergarten, school, peer relationships, sports). These elements together shape the child’s behavior and mental state.

Every child is unique, so we always tailor our support to the individual personality and needs of each child.

The active role of parents

The openness and cooperation of parents is key to supporting a child’s development. Psychological work is not only about the child, but about the whole family, as the family environment is decisive in a child’s life.

Our psychologist colleagues do not judge, but stand by the family with the intention of helping them to understand the child’s situation and find the most appropriate way to support them together.

In life situation, when it can be useful

Behavioral changes (aggression, anxiety, fear)

If a child’s behavior suddenly changes—for example, they become angry more often, anxious, or withdrawn—this often indicates internal tensions. In such cases, it is important to seek professional help to make it easier for the child to understand and manage their feelings.

Sibling rivalry, difficulties fitting in

A new sibling or a new community—kindergarten, school—can bring many emotional challenges. If your child has difficulty finding their place or becomes jealous, psychological support can help them process their feelings and develop harmonious relationships.

Losses (divorce, bereavement, moving house)

A divorce, the loss of a loved one, or a change of residence can deeply affect a child. These events cause emotional stress that is difficult to process alone. In such cases, a psychologist provides support to help the child feel safe and process their emotions.

School problems (attention, learning difficulties)

If your child has difficulty concentrating or learning, it is worth consulting a specialist who can help identify the causes and provide guidance on appropriate support.

Sleep and eating problems, physical symptoms

Sleep disorders, appetite problems, and stomachaches are often caused by psychological factors. A psychologist can help you understand these issues and support you in restoring your physical and mental balance.

Challenges of adolescence (puberty, career choice)

Adolescence is a complex, emotionally turbulent period when young people are searching for themselves, their self-confidence may fluctuate, and they often experience conflicts with family or friends. Choosing a career path is a significant decision that can add further pressure. Child psychology consultations provide support to help adolescents understand themselves and make confident decisions about their future.
